Another Veterans day in America and I pause to say thanks to every one who serves and has ever served,

So many of us wake up and go about our lives under the blanket of freedom so many individuals who are nameless to us have provided. We complain about everything and have grown arrogant in this nation as we have so much that was bought and paid for with the blood of nameless soldiers who have fought and died to give us the ability to complain.

Do you realize every little thing you are able to do is because of freedom? Freedom is all that separates America from the rest of the world. Freedom is why our enemies hate us. Face it. Freedom of religion is the main reason terror exist. We allow individuals to worship or not worship as they choose and this makes us infidels as we do not force anyone into the strict laws of a particular faith.

A push is on with the current administration to take our freedom away. To force us not into religious chains but economic hardship. To take away the basic freedoms our fore fathers risk death to create. Freedom of choice. This is not drafted into the constitution as a right such as freedom of speech, due process under law, private property rights etc… The reason? It is the very fabric this country ws created on. It was the corner-stone on which the entire nation exist. Nothing else in our constitution exist without it.

This list is growing under this current administration. Health care is the prime and popular example at this current time. Forcing Americans to purchase something or risk prison. John Adams if alive today would ask Obama for a duel on the white house lawn over this one. He believed it so much, that without free choice, America was nothing. He pushed INDEPENDANCE with a passion for reasons smaller than health care.

But are there others? Cap and Trade – ensuring you pay a penalty for using more electricity than what the government allows you? Taxation without representation? If you have a Republican representative in the house the health care bill just passed without your voice heard in the debate.

Right to vote – and by extension the right to a fair and free election. Nope – Half of the Dallas Cowboys were registered to vote in Nevada in the last election and this one found out after Tony Romo voted in Nevada while off with Jessica Simpson in Mexico – and do not forget Bob Dornan who after a failed re – election bid a decade ago in California walked into the Democratic Secretary of State’s office with physical proof that 40 thousand deceased individuals voted for his opponent only to be told that the evidence would not be seen because he failed to fill out a form 6 months prior to the election with voter fraud concerns.

Freedom of the Press? Well maybe but dont ask Obama about Fox News – he is looking for a way to shut them down because he has feelings.

Right to bear arms? Another debate for another day. But this alone is being taken from us slowly

So many people fought and died to preserve these for you regardless of you being a practitioner of any of them. We dishonor them by allowing our handful of elected officials work to take these away for their party’s ideology. The more they abuse our ability to hold these rights the more the Nation will become disenfranchised. They more they take our money to do these things the more the Nation will fight back. When the next American Revolution comes – please do not stand there and look surprised. Please watch this video giving to me by a reader. Please listen to what 1 representative is saying that I cannot say any better. This is the first step towards lost of your freedoms.

Trickle down economics – also known as supply side economics – was greatly criticized in the 80′s – so what has changed today that it is the way we should fix our economic mess?

Supply side economics is a way to get money flowing through the economy. There are 2 ways actually – supply side and demand side. Demand side would be putting money into the hands of those who spend – like the consumers. Fiscal policy here would be to give tax cuts, rebate checks etc.. Supply side would be to give manufactures or suppliers of services money, like bail out checks, tax breaks for production etc…

In the 80′s the tactic was to give “big business” – you know – the evil ones – tax breaks to continue to stay and produce locally – with the cost savings passed to the consumer – who then sees a deal and makes a purchase. The Democrats wish for you to believe this is somehow EVIL as the rich get richer (tag line from every political campaign speech ever uttered) while the poor stay poor.

Well – lets fast forward to current times. Obama and the bail outs is supply side economics with the hopes of stimulating or at least continuing production. However there is not cost savings built in so it is not producing the increased cheaper production of goods and services that would stimulate the economy. The demand side has no benefit.

The bail outs were a keen way to keep organizations who failed in business after their bad decisions led them to failure. No accountability was in place – here just take a boat load of money and sin no more. Well as we have seen – there is no economic benefit from the bailouts as our economy is kept artificially inflated and no recovery can take place.

The organizations who took bailout money are in the minority against those that did not. Organizations which practice good business sense and are riding out the recession as they always have and as you would. By tightening up a bit and saving for when the rainy day is over to be competitive again. However some of these organizations such as Ford are seeing their competition – which they buried in the Marketplace – kept in business even though they failed. Where is Fords reward for practicing good business. They turned a billion dollar profit recently but would it have been 2, maybe 3 billion if their competitors were not kept around by a government only concerned with keeping the auto workers and their lobby employed? Would Ford have increased production as GM is not around? Would Ford have had to hire auto workers? would Toyota, Hyundai etc…as the supply side would have been without a major provider?

The world will never know.

What a Joke:

As much as humor is needed in the health care debate the biggest joke is not the bill the House passed late Saturday night after excluding Republicans in having a word about it during its draft, but the antics of Representatives on both sides of the aisle.

I mean good god people. Baby’s on display, parliamentary challenges, well prepared and tax payer paid charts and graphs that show absolutely nothing that was in the bill, it was a fiasco.

Moment of Truth:

And when it was all said and done the Democrats succeeded, got this bill passed by 2 votes – one being a freshman Republican who received a call from Obama himself (I bet he feels so honored). The only Republican it seems that Obama called now that he broke his silence on Health Care. – http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/11/09/update-lone-gop-vote-came-after-call-from-president-obama/

Lets face facts here – Even though Pelosi looked orgasmic when she read the final vote and even though the Democrats in the chamber cheered as if Joe Montana just won the super bowl – Health care in this form as passed from the house saw its best night – Saturday night.

As Written – will never come out of the Senate:

This bill is never get going to get of the Senate with the public option (take over of the health care system by the Government) in it. It just will not. I am sure the 2.5% post – tax on my benefits I pay for will not ever occur. A tax designed only to make the public option cheaper than me keeping the benefits I like so I will switch to the public option – but then who would pay for it hmm – or should I say hmm hmm hmm.

A bill with more regulations on health insurance providers and costs that will be passed onto the consumer – again made to make my benefits more expensive so i will choose the public option.

A bill without Tort Reform on malpractice settlements as it would make lawyers angry and possibly not vote Democrat in future elections – another reason costs are higher than they should be.

A health care plan that requires you and I to purchase insurance or face 5 years in prison and hefty fines up to 50 thousand dollars. A health care plan with no Medicare overhauls leaving our elderly with Medicare – not bad except Medicare is liked by only a few and bleeding money like a bad gun shot wound. Are we to thing the House version of the bill will do any different?

See the articles below about the Senate and health care. This bill is done as it is written. They may pass it but it will be a shadow if that of how it left the House. Why? Because it is just that bad of a plan that will cost that much money and will do that little good.

Not Constitional:

My only hope is somehow or someway it gets out of the Senate as written. Really – I wish to see the ambulance chasing lawyer who takes this to the Supreme Court in the first class action constitutional case. Lets face it – the Government cannot mandate me to buy a house, car, TV, radio, shoes for my kids, dinner for my spouse etc… Do we really believe the constitution has any room in if for the Federal Government to say to me – American Citizen – go buy something we mandate or go to prison? It cannot – a fact ignored by the Socialist - I mean Democrats in the house.

The government cannot mandate you or I do anything – so let it pass and let’s go see the High Court. Send me to prison if I do not buy a product you tell me to? Come on Obama – Clinton – a constitutional law professor – would not even try this one.

So I praise the efforts of the House Democrats to exclude from the debate half the country and the President who has been oddly silent and void of leadership on this debate for finally chiming in. I praise delaying the vote till you had just enough to pass the bill instead of going to vote on Friday as promised. Is this how it works now? Yes it is when winning is all that matters and doing what is best for the American people comes second.

Welcome to week 9 of the NFL picks. All odds were taken from Yahoo.com/sports and will use today the odds set by SBGGLOBAL.com. For entertainment purposes only. Always gamble at your own risk.

I went 4 and 2 last week with my 6 picks – 67% is awesome. Lets make some money

LETS GO:

As always – I hate 10+ point favorites in a NFL game and we got quite a few together. New England is giving 10.5 to the Dolphins at home. Stay far away from this game. Although I personally believe Miami will cover given NE;s Defense is not what it used to be and it seems they can still score sometimes. No advice here.

New Orleans is giving 13 to the Panthers and New Orleans is at home. I hate double-digit favorites but if you are going to take a double-digit favorite this week take this one as it seems like a lock. The Panthers are really as bad as they seem despite shalaking the Cards last week. That was more Warners bad game than anything else. Take New Orleans at home and covering the 13 point spread.

The 49′ers are giving 4 to the Titans at home. The Titans finally got off the slide last week with Vince Young at QB and I believe the titans will win straight up so take the Titans to beat the spread.

The eagles are giving 3 at home to the Cowboys. Dallas will lose this game in an ugly way so take Philly at home to cover the 3.

Indy is giving the Texans 8.5 at home and both teams can score. Indy is a favorite and is due to lose and the 49′ers kinda gave a blue print last week on how to slow down the greatest show on turf. Take Houston to cover.

Chicago is given AZ 3 at home. Both teams have shown multiple personalities so picking a team here is tough. AZ has looked very good on the road this year and Chicago is hit or miss. Take AZ to cover the 3 and if you can take them straight up – this is the week to do it.

Monday night sees the Steelers giving 3 to the Broncos. Great offense against tough defense. My concern is the Broncos offense will not score a great deal on Pitt. Take Pitt to cover the 3 point spread on the road on Monday night.

RECAP

New Orleans covers the 13 against the Panthers

Titans win straight up and beat the 4 against the 9ers

Dallas looses by more than a field goal on the road to the Eagles. Take the Eagles to cover the 3

Indy probably wins but Houston covers the 8.5

AZ wins straight up on the road in Chy town – take the Cards to bounce back and beat the 3

Pitt wins by more than a field goal on the road in Denver. Take Pitt to cover the 3

A quick look at a few chosen stories of the past week -

The DC Sniper from a few years ago – remember this clown – he and a teenage accomplice went on a shooting spree in Virgina and DC a few years back – with the ultimate goal of sniping his ex wife so he could get his kids back. Mr. Muhammad is set to be executed this month for his crime and although there will be some level of protest against the death penalty – I cannot think of a better way to assist Mr. Muhammad in getting his chance to contribute to society by his timely exit from this world at the hands of the executioner with his victims families looking on. Yeah for the justice system. Oddly enough this is mum on most news stations but will be talked about in some level once it occurs.

Shooting In Texas – A Major at the Fort Hood Army base went on a shooting spree yesterday killing 13 of America’s finest and wounding many more. Although his name is of Middle Eastern descent “Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan” and he shouted out allegedly “Allahu Akbar!” — “God is great!” in Arabic and allegedly is tied to internet post comparing suicide bombers to American soldiers who throw themselves on live grenades – meaning they are heros – we would all be a bit pre – mature to jump to the conclusion he is some type of terrorist per the great reporting by CNN. – http://www.cnn.com/POLITICS/

Iran tested advanced Nuclear Warhead – http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33711466/ns/world_news-mideastn_africa/ - Go Figure – they are not a threat and worthy of our Administrations negotiations to disarm. I am personally unsure why we think our enemies will simply someday just give up.

unemployment hits 10% – is that really 90% employment? Number is bad I agree however the sooner the White House stops saying “Worst Economic Disaster Since The Great Depression” things will turn around a bit. As a side not – the jobs lost were not in the 1 million saved by Obama and the bail outs and the thousands of jobs created do not factor into this number. These are due to evil organizations who overpay their executives and refuse to buy their employees suitable health care. Remember he inherited this “Mess” and I personally wonder at what point he will own it. He will be a 4 year only president who never was to blame for anything. It was Bush’s fault. Al GOre should have won. Reagan is to blame – blah blah blah. Give us some effort President Obama – stop blaming people like my 9 year old for everything that goes wrong and just do something – anything – you can call your own.

AIG turns profit for second straight quarter – http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/11/06/business/main5549150.shtml?tag=stack - so – can they pay the bail out money back? Unsure as no one is asking.

Washington State approves Gay partnerships – everything the Gay community asked for except to be called marriage – http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/11/05/politics/main5543317.shtml?tag=stack

Health Care Vote set for Friday- Obama was to lobby congress as votes are short however the Fort Hood shooting prevented this. So the vote has been moved to Saturday. The AARP and AMA backed the bill in the house and Pelosi swears they will get the votes by tomorrow to pass this. She does not have them now but putting in restrictions of tax payer funded abortion seems to have one over a few more votes while the heavy regulation on insurance providers have a few still weary. What would Thomas Paine say – http://www.ushistory.org/paine/commonsense/singlehtml.htm

Have a delightful weekend. Just to show we can have fun – check out this song when you have a few moments – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhhkF3dqXR0

As I sit here and read many articles about the Iran Hostage taking 30 years ago, 30 years ago, 30 YEARS AGO I cannot help but wonder what the hell if anything we have been doing about these cooties for the last 3 decades.

I was very young when this occurred and being a 6-year-old I did not understand the political ramifications of what was occurring. 444 days later I was 8 and the hostages were released. My goal in life at that moment was to get a Mickey Mouse T-Shirt with the Phrase “Hey Iran” and Mickey flipping off who at the time were our biggest enemy (Remember). Taking from the scene of one hostage at the top of the airplane stairs on the tarmac and wishing to express himself as an American turns to the camera and gives the finger to a nation who had held him for more than a year of his life.

The sentiment of a nation was expressed through his middle finger and down played to this day. I looked for a picture or something to post here today but only found article after article stating he was going to raise his first finger in a win one for the gipper way of saying America is number 1. If you believe this you are truly void of free thought and have bought hook line and sinker the notion of our media that wishes to not in any way upset our enemies because after all that is why they attack us.

30 years later Iran still dominates our headlines only this time as up and coming nuclear power. Just yesterday they also made the headlines on the anniversary of their hostage taking after a boat load of missiles was captured by Israel on its way to terrorist who would use them to attack the Israelis. A nation hell-bent on destroying everything not them or Islamic but smart enough to build into their approach plausible deniability which they know no one believes but since it is out their – it holds some weight with the soft-hearted amongst us.

In this same time period we saw the rise of other little cooties such as Colonel Khadafi in Lybia. We also saw his fall at the end of a US bomb and has been oddly quiet since then except for his inability to get promoted to General in the Army he controls and his 45 minute throat clearing and Obama’s state requested meeting at the UN – in which the only need for the meeting was to get to yet another worthless resolution against the nation of Iran?

We saw the Iran\Iraq war in which we sided with Saddam Hussein in the hopes he would win the war against our enemy and paved the way for 2 wars against him in later years – one in which we stopped short of removing this cootie and were criticised and one in which we did remove him – and were criticised for not winning the peace after the fact. By the way the insurgency in Iraq post Gulf War 2 was fueled and funded in most part by the nation of Iran.

How did we – the most powerful nation in the world, become the worlds laughing-stock when it comes to dealing with our enemies? We carry no weight any longer in the world as everyone knows if we get hit in the mouth a bit we will just quit. They know our soldiers will get no support from our elected leaders and every time some congress person gets up and criticise military activity the public in America drops just a little support and our enemies are empowered. And they know our leadership will not allow our military to win if it makes someone somewhere angry.

So it takes 30 years for America to incubate the threat of terrorism. Partly through bad political policy and mostly through in – action. So what if Al Gore was president after 9\11. Would we have taken action like Bill Clinton? Shoot a few cruise missiles into an aspirin factory and into a terrorist training camp that we knew was there for god knows how long? Would there be a must win war in Afghanistan we do not fight very well? Would Obama even be president as he owes his presidency to George Bush and his actions – right or wrong – and the medias relentless beating for it?

I for one stood up after 9\11 and gave my finger to terrorist. I hold the same anger today as I did then and hope my children do not have to grow up with this threat the way I grew up with the threat of nuclear war with the Soviets. They will however because America has lost its 2 most important and most effective assets in 30 years.

OUR BALLS

I like to browse the popular news sites the morning after any election in our great nation and see just what and how the election results are reported. News agencies are not stupid – they realize there is a majority of the population who read only headlines and position of stories on pages and base their whole opinions on this simple thing. Look out America – these people vote only for what they wish to hear and news agencies take full advantage of this to “urge” support in the ways they fell it should go. So lets take a look.

USA Today – election results are off to the side of the main page in a small caption and is titled “N.J., Va. give GOP reason to celebrate” – If you frequent USA today you will walk away knowing the Republicans won and have a reason to celebrate. The assumption si they needed a reason to celebrate and the size and position of the story communicates that it is a story – just not that important. The main headline on page is about an increase in broken backs amongst our soldiers in Afghanistan.

CBS News – headline is second on page and is overshadowed by an advertisement for some interview with Michelle Obama and is titled “Republicans Sweep N.J., Va. Gov. Races” – Fair headline – tells us what occurred - overshadowed by an oversized picture of Michelle Obama. Making the election results an afterthought to our First Lady. A woman with absolutely no responsibility for anything but is news worthy as the Obama’s walked into the White House partly because of the Rock Start way they were sold to the U.S. public. They are very popular people beyond their politics. If you read this article however the President is referred to as “Mr. Obama” which is to me an insult to the office regardless of how I fell about President Obama’s policies. Show some respect.

MSNBC – large headline dwarfs all on page and is titled “A year after dousing, GOP’s hope rekindled “ The story is positioned large and in front and the headline is quick to state that the Republicans had it handed to them and somehow now have hope. I am unsure if the GOP was that far down on the Ropes. If you take into account the Democrats run both sides of Congress and their current approval rating sits at 14% – it is just curious to me where the word “dousing” is used. Of course in a headline.

CNN – middle of page and titled “Big Night for GOP, Despite NY Loss” – Gives credit but pulls it back real quick. Reminds me of the last news cast I watched on CNN where in a big loud voice the anchor started a story about George Bush roughly a year after 9\11 in which she stated “Economy shows great signs of recovery in Spite of Bush’s policies”. Despite is a big word used often by this particular station.

Fox News – Main headline and titled “Obama Dealt a Blow as Dems Face Voter Backlash at Poll” – Expected here – large and triumphant. It is however debatable for how big if at all this is a referendum on the President.

We can see from these examples how the media simply by the wording and placement of their headlines do attempt to sway opinions of those who will read nothing more than the headlines. Newspapers are famous for putting front page above the fold things they wish to communicate and other stories they do not necessarily wish for you to focus on below the fold or in section B. Old trick from the unbiased media.

As a side note – I did see that Maine’s populus voted down Gay Marriage after having it shoved on them by their legislature. This is another record. Every state that had gay marriage pushed on them by their elected officials (who represent the will of their constituents - allegedly) voted to over turn it. 30 states have went as far as amending their state’s constitution to define marriage as between a male and female and make gay marriage unconstitutional. 1 things here. Representatives in these states have shown that they will ignore the will of the people they represent – in their future are federal congressional aspirations for most – so watch carefully. Weather you are for or against gay marriage – a representative who will follow their own agenda versus the peoples – should not be in a position of law making.

Secondly to the gay community: The constitution gives no rights to anyone to be married. Was this an oversight by our founding fathers? No: if it were a right and I asked a girl to marry me and she said no – I could sue. The government – to protect my right – would have to make the girl marry me or find me a suitable replacement. After all it is my right. So please stop running around saying you have this right and why can’t everyone just show tolerance. It is not a tolerance issue as the majority of Americans are tolerant of your lifestyle – just do not wish to have it pushed on us.

So – how many zeros in a trillion? The answer is 12. Lets think about this a bit. $1,200,000,000,000 is the 10 year cost of a health reform bill soon to be considered by our House of Representatives. Think about this – this is the cost to get it going, how much will be spent in reforming it as the Government rarely gets anything right the first time. The next ten years cost? Nobody is even daring to talk about this. Nancy Pelosi shook her witchy finger and stated it would not crack the 1 trillion-dollar mark but as we have seen in the past – she has no clue about much of anything.

The average monthly cost for a family for health coverage considered “good” with low deductibles is 197 a month or $2364 per year (insurancenewsnet.org). In a country with a population of 307 , 849,614 (census.gov) it seems excessive. Out of our population we have only 20% without health insurance (NCHC.org). So what is that number? 61,569,922 people in America do not have health insurance. 8 of 10 of this number come from working families who either can pay all, pay part, or do not make enuf to pay for it all. We do not have visibility to this number at all.

With this said why does our government ignore the over 246 million people with health insurance and are working to take what they have away (do not believe you will have the choice to keep what you have as they state) and making a mad grab at the whole pie? We earn things in America by working hard. We are empowered to care for our families through the fruits of our labor and take pride in the fact that we do without the big screen TV to give our kids health care. This is what makes Americans and America great. This is being taking away from us based on the ideology of an administration that has demonized for profit health care providers who dare to make a buck – even though the yearly cost as mentioned below is less than most quality big screen TV.s How many of the 8 of 10 have a big screen TV and no coverage? Again – we get no visibility to this number.

As mentioned in previous blogs the federal government believes 100% of us are idiot morons and they alone are the only ones who know what is best for us and are children. Ego drives this debate and not the will of the people or any level of common sense or prioritization of needs versus wants.

So lets look a bit closer: 61,569,922 people do not have coverage. There is no way to extrapolate how much this number could be reduced if we could weed out a few categories. Such as how many can we combine into a family unit. Of the 8 of 10 of these individuals that belong to working families how many can afford coverage but choose to not buy it for some reason. How many can pay partially for their coverage. Are any illegal? The question here is how many truly cannot provide insurance for themselves or their families?

Why is our government not getting to this number and providing for only those who cannot provide for themselves? Americans would surely support that but even then are very weary of government-run anything – cannot get swine flu vaccine, tax code is bigger than dictionary, 29 Czars (politico.com) getting salaries higher than most executives that the Administration has deemed evil and should have salaries capped, not to mention a war we must win but wont because we are afraid of our own military.

For obvious reasons 57% of Americans are in favor of replacing the entire Congress and starting over because they have done us nothing we can call good (Rasmussen.com). We must look into why this is and see if the health care options being debated are truly giving to us what you would do given the option. Would you take your money and buy your neighbor anything if they had the resources to provide for themselves. Would you buy a hungry man food if he had no money? Or would you give them both food and money and walk away feeling like you have done something other than make a bad decision with your money. 1 man gets help and 1 man gets a unneeded handout and both get your money.

I say start small – provide for those who cannot provide for themselves – through trial and error get the right formula for this. Once perfected perhaps open it up a bit as an option in the market place to create a little competition and reduce the overall cost for all. But most of all – put it in motion and give it to someone who can do it right. Someone in the public sector so there are no greasy strings attached to it. Government should tear down barriers for those who work hard to succeed and not create a quagmire of a system to feed of others success to compensate for others failures.
